Job Summary
Provide strategic leadership for the Motility program, overseeing clinical operations, research initiatives, and educational activities. Develop and expand a multidisciplinary, patient-centered Motility care model while leading a robust clinical research program. Mentor junior faculty, fellows, and trainees in clinical practice, academic development, and research. Maintain active clinical practice in Motility/Swallowing Disorders and collaborate with colleagues across specialties including nutrition, surgery, pathology, and radiology. Partner with the Division Chief of Gastroenterology/Hepatology to identify strategic planning priorities. This role supports translational research and prepares the next generation of physicians within a collaborative academic health science center.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO with board certification in Gastroenterology
- Eligible for licensure in AZ
- Established track record of excellence in Motility clinical care and academic scholarship
- Strong record of clinical research and/or translational research in Motility
- Demonstrated leadership experience and a commitment to mentorship and team development
- Eligibility for appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor level
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading clinical trials or translational research programs
- Additional training or fellowship in Neuro-gastroenterology/Motility
