Job Summary
Foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeon sought for Winchester, VA practice. Responsible for outpatient and inpatient foot and ankle surgeries (forefoot, midfoot, rearfoot, and ankle), treating foot/ankle conditions from assessment to postoperative care. Collaborate with inter-professional team, prescribe medications and therapies, perform surgeries, manage fractures, and participate in research while mentoring residents and medical staff. Reports to the Lead Physician; practice includes opportunities for joint ownership in facilities and real estate options; location-based responsibilities include on-site care at Winchester Medical Center and affiliated clinics. Must be board certified or board eligible in Foot and Ankle orthopaedics, hold licensure in applicable states, have BLS, a 3-year post-graduate training, and ongoing CEUs; strong interpersonal and EMR skills, and ability to work independently. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, trauma and sports medicine focus, and contributing to high-quality orthopaedic care across a multi-site system.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon from an accredited training program
- Licensure in the assigned practice state(s)
- BLS Certification required
- 3-year post graduate training required
- Board Qualified in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle
- Must maintain CEU's in pertinent clinical practice according to licensure requirements
- Excellent knowledge of therapeutic and surgical treatments for the lower extremities
- Experience and proficiency working with computers and electronic medical records
