Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive primary care for infants, children, youth, and adults, including physical exams, follow-up appointments, and fitness-for-duty evaluations. Manage assigned patient panels by providing diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic services while performing periodic physicals and medical boards. Execute procedures within scope of practice and communicate protocols to health professionals as needed. Work independently under the general direction of the Chief, Department of Primary Care, adhering to military regulations and quality assurance principles. Maintain board certification in Family Medicine and ACLS certification.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • Residency Completion
  • Board certification or eligibility for certification in Family Medicine
  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada
  • Degree accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States for foreign medical school graduates (permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination)
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
  • At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (internship or first year of residency)
  • Successfully completed the required accredited residency training in Family Medicine
  • Equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years (not substituting for required residency training)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Ability to perform ACLS protocols outlined therein in a manner which is unsupervised
  • Ability to communicate skills and knowledge to other health professionals and paraprofessionals in time of need
