Job Summary
Family Practice Physician responsible for examining active duty family members and authorized beneficiaries, providing appropriate care or referrals, performing procedures (e.g., vasectomy, simple fracture reduction, lumbar puncture, emergency deliveries, endometrial biopsy, joint aspiration/injection, proctosigmoidoscopy), and supervising medical students/residents as needed. The role supports Department of Defense civilian operations at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA, with potential eligibility for student loan repayment and recruitment/relocation bonuses. Requires MD/DO with valid US licensure, eligible residency in Family Practice, and capability to practice across a broad range of medical duties for patients of all ages.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO from an US/Canada-credited school
- ECFMG certification accepted for foreign graduates (if applicable)
- 1 year of supervised clinical experience after graduation (internship or first year of residency)
- permanent, full, unrestricted medical license in a US jurisdiction (state/DC/PR/territory)
- 4+ years of residency training or equivalent Family Practice experience to qualify for GP-14
- broad competencies in patient care across all ages; ability to supervise trainees as needed
