Job Summary
Provide complete, comprehensive, family-oriented clinical care for patients throughout the life cycle, including obtaining histories, performing examinations, making diagnoses, and prescribing treatments. Inoculate patients against communicable diseases, advise on lifestyle changes, and coordinate with care teams to ensure treatment goals are met. Interpret medical and laboratory tests, write physician orders, and counsel patients on physical, medical, and mental conditions while obtaining appropriate consent. Maintain accurate medical records, update problem lists, and respond to portal messages and EHR inboxes. Participate in on-call rotations, meetings, and training sessions as determined by administration, while adhering to safety protocols and medical laws.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency training program
- Degree in Medicine
- At least 3 years of residency training
- Current state medical license
- DEA number
- Completed and passed U.S. Medical Licensing Examination
- Must be able to meet the VCMC Medical Staff Credentialing requirements
- Actively practiced for an average of at least 10 hours per week in the specialty that you are applying for at the Health Care Agency for 12 of the previous 24 months (or have completed a residency within the previous 18 months)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine OR General Internal Medicine
- Must be willing and able to work in Thousand Oaks and/or East Ventura County
