Job Summary
Conduct daily family medicine care for approximately 20-25 patients, managing history, physicals, diagnoses, and treatment across circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, and other systems. Perform pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients and provide consultation to patients of all ages. Manage hospital call and surgical emergencies, with ER support from Status Health and transport to Sioux Falls Medical Center for severe cases. Share nursing home responsibility and maintain privileges for admitting, evaluating, and treating patients with mental health and functional disorders. Work 0.75 FTE across three clinic days per month.
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as applicable
- Active involvement in the clinical aspects of Family Medicine by providing a case log that includes 25 vaginal deliveries, 50 adult medical patients, and 10 inpatient care of children under the age of 18 (excluding normal newborn), as applicable to privileges being requested, in the last 12 months
- Achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement
