Job Summary
Physician in Family Medicine provides comprehensive medical care to patients across a broad range of conditions, including diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, immunizations, and routine follow-up. Responsibilities include taking patient histories, ordering or performing diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, maintaining and documenting patient records, educating patients and communities on disease prevention, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. The role involves training future family physicians, collaborating with a clinical team, and adhering to state and professional guidelines. Requires completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency (3+ years), active D.E.A. registration, NJ medical licensure, and board certification in Family Medicine; BLS/ACLS certification and CME compliance are also expected.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine Residency for 3 or more years of experience
- Current D.E.A certificate
- Previous experience in a hospital and/or clinic setting
- Understanding of New Jersey mandated reporting laws
- Keep up with CME requirements for Texas License and Board Certification
- Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO)
- Current board certification by ABFM or AOBFM
- Experience working in a Family Practice environment, community health experience preferred
- Valid New Jersey State Medical License
- BLS and ACLS certification
