Job Summary
Provide longitudinal telehealth care for patients with obesity, focusing on evidence-based treatment and chronic weight management. Manage your own patient panel, collaborate with registered dietitians, and prescribe non-controlled obesity medications. Conduct chart reviews and return visits for advanced practice patients every third visit to ensure quality and continuity. Ensure clinical documentation, protocols, and treatment pathways are followed consistently. Assist in the professional development of advanced practice professionals by offering feedback and supporting continuing education. Participate in team-based care initiatives, attend departmental meetings, and contribute to quality improvement efforts within the obesity medicine program. This is a modified full-time, remote position with a rotating after-hours call schedule and reduced clinical time during coverage weeks.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- board certification
- American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) diplomate
- board certified in Endocrinology
- licensed to practice and prescribe legally in AL, FL, GA, IN, KY, MI, MS, NC, OH, SC, or TN
- LOQ (Letter of Qualification) with the IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact)
- credentialed with insurance payers
- excellent interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions
- committed to the highest quality of medical care and an evidence-based approach to obesity management
- prior experience conducting telemedicine visits
- great 'web-side' manner
- prior experience working collaboratively with advanced practice professionals and registered dietitians
