Job Summary
Provide 24/7 emergency care with an average of 2.0 patients per hour across varying 8, 9, or 10-hour shifts. Manage diverse case mixes including Trama surgery on-call, while utilizing a FAST track option for ESI 3-5 patients. Develop individualized treatment plans, write orders for medications and tests, and perform minor procedures. Support the team with in-house anesthesia, pediatric hospitalists, and intensivist coverage from 7A-7P, noting that the department does not respond to hospital airways or codes.
Required Qualifications
- Board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician
- Current South Carolina M.D. or D.O.
- Successfully completed a post-graduate residency program
- Valid, current and unrestricted SC medical license
- Current state and federal controlled substance licenses
- Familiarity with a wide range of ailments, diseases, and disorders and injuries
- Competency in performing minor procedures
