Job Summary
Provide strategic leadership for the Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine, overseeing clinical, research, and educational activities while managing the budget, resources, and personnel. Recruit, mentor, and retain faculty and staff to foster a collaborative environment that promotes excellence and innovation. Maintain a clinical practice providing expert consultation and care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care within the division. Promote and support research activities including basic translational and clinical work, and assist the Infectious Disease Fellowship Program in developing innovative educational programs. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Degree (e.g., MD, DO)
- Board certification in Infectious Diseases
- Meets The University of Minnesota Medical School criteria for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Medicine
- Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience
- A strong record of clinical excellence and international reputation for outstanding scholarly activity
- Proven ability to secure extramural funding for research
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to inclusive excellence
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Minnesota
- Initial appointment is intended for 5 years
- Continued appointment is contingent upon an annual performance review conducted by the Department Head
- Annual Flu vaccination
