Job Summary
Conduct primary medical care for CVHS patients, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and minor surgical procedures. Prescribe medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and manage follow-up care while referring complex cases to specialists. Provide medical supervision to staff, lead team-based practice models, and participate in quality assurance and preventive health programs. Deliver after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage in rotation, including phone consultations and patient meetings. Submit timely documentation into the eClinicalWorks electronic health record and complete coding and billing functions. Adhere to CVHS contract provisions, security protocols, and professional bylaws while maintaining high standards of patient confidentiality and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine degree from an AMA certified school of medicine
- Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an AOA approved school of osteopathy
- Successful completion of a residency program in a primary care discipline (family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics)
- Licensed as a physician in the State of Virginia
- Ability to work some after-hours or on-call coverage
