Physician

Provide professional medical direction, oversight and direct patient care in a correctional facility. Perform examinations, diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, and provide treatment and follow-up care. Lead the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Supervisor, monitor and review standards of care, participate in treatment planning, conduct clinical rounds, and hold clinics with nursing specialists. Perform minor surgery and occasional major surgery if necessary, maintain medical records with confidentiality, ensure accreditation of the medical program, and coordinate with external providers. On-call status and ongoing professional development activities are expected.
