Job Summary

Conduct medical histories, physical examinations, and review required medical tests and documents for applicants seeking military service. Secure thorough health histories, assess medical documentation, and render medical opinions on fitness for programs by applying accession medical standards. Access and update electronic medical documentation, respond to communications, and participate in local medical peer reviews while adhering to IAW, Privacy Act, and HIPAA. Provide highest regard to applicant dignity and utilize the "Red Carpet Treatment" philosophy. Maintain current unrestricted license, BLS certification, and one year of post-graduate experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) of the American Medical Association (AMA) or Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) accredited or evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.
  • Completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency
  • Possess a current unrestricted license from any one of the 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
  • Minimum of one (1) year post graduate experience within the last two (2) years
  • Possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA). BLS must include Hands-On skills session.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate with all parties and other providers
  • Ability to effectively plan and utilize time while administering judgement and demonstrating sound decision-making skills
  • Possess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills and social sensitivity
  • Ability to complete Genesis training requirements for medical documentation
  • Experience in collecting, organizing, recording and communicating, while taking health histories and administering mental health screening questionnaires
  • Knowledgeable of diagnostic procedures related to a variety of medical and health care fields to include obstetrics and gynecology, otolaryngology, pediatric, orthopedic, internal medicine and mental health
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
