Physician Champion (Medical Doctor)

Provide direct outpatient primary care to patients at Family Medical Centers, including after-hours phone consultations and medication prescriptions. Act as a liaison for referrals when the Chief Medical Officer is unavailable and requisition lab and x-ray exams. Direct, coordinate, and consult with nurses, specialists, and other medical staff while supervising employees directly responsible to the physician. Participate in quality improvement activities, staff conferences for patient care planning, and continuing education. Assume specified duties in the absence of the medical director and maintain appropriate medical certification. Complete billing and patient record documents timely and comply with managed care contracts.
