Physician Cardiothoracic Surgery

Based in Danville with coverage across Geisinger’s Heart & Vascular Institute sites (Danville, Wilkes-Barre, Scranton), the Cardiothoracic Surgery program performs the full breadth of adult cardiothoracic procedures with emphasis on valvular, minimally invasive, robotic, aortic, and mechanical circulatory support including LVAD and ECMO programs. The successful candidate will have broad Cardiothoracic training and an interest in minimally invasive and robotic approaches, and may provide coverage at other system sites as needed. The role supports advanced providers, participates in the LVAD program, TAVR and Mitra Clip implementations, and contributes to a multi-disciplinary Structural Heart program. Education requires MD/DO and Pennsylvania MD licensure; board certification and extensive cardiothoracic experience are expected.
