Job Summary
Provide overnight inpatient cardiology coverage on the Duluth campus, managing acute coronary syndromes, decompensated heart failure, and arrhythmias. Respond to overnight consults from the Emergency Department, ICU, and outside facilities while interpreting ECGs, adult transthoracic echocardiograms, and cardiovascular clinical decisions. Collaborate with interventional, electrophysiology, and heart failure teams to ensure effective handoffs to daytime cardiology teams. Participate in quality, safety, and care standardization initiatives aligned with Heart & Vascular Division goals. This role supports the regional tertiary Heart & Vascular Center serving northern Minnesota, northwestern Wisconsin, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in cardiovascular disease with demonstrated competency in TTE interpretation and eligible for Minnesota licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in cardiovascular disease
- Demonstrated competency in adult transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) interpretation
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Minnesota
- Strong inpatient cardiology experience
- Comfort managing acute cardiovascular conditions
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work within a collaborative, dyad leadership model
- 7 nights on / 7 nights off schedule
- 7:00 PM - 8:0 AM shift times
- Monday - Sunday availability
