Job Summary
Breast Surgical Oncologist to join a multidisciplinary breast program at Liberty Hospital within The University of Kansas Health System. Hybrid role delivering community-based breast cancer care with access to KU Cancer Center resources and clinical trials, primarily at a satellite hospital, while remaining integrated with an academic cancer center. Responsibilities include collaborating with breast radiologists, medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, and nurse navigators; providing comprehensive breast oncologic care including reconstructive options; participating in tumor boards, survivorship, and multidisciplinary conferences; and contributing to a high-quality, patient-centered care continuum.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO or equivalent
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Surgery
- Fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology or Complex General Surgical Oncology with a breast emphasis
- Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri
- Integrated Multidisciplinary Breast Program
- Experience with breast radiology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, and APPs in a multidisciplinary setting
- Accredited Lymphedema Center of Excellence program involvement
- Breast-focused nurse navigators for care coordination
- Broad reconstructive options via microvascular plastic surgeons (free-flap, lymphatic procedures)
- Participation in tumor boards, clinical pathways, and multidisciplinary case conferences
