Obtain detailed histories and physicals, assess and treat acute and chronic medical problems, and deliver direct patient care within the scope of approved privileges. Order and administer appropriate medical tests, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide patient and family education. Communicate effectively with patients and the healthcare team, manage patient flow, and coordinate with providers to implement care protocols. Monitor care quality, maintain a safe environment, and ensure Joint Commission standards are met. Intervene in situations involving agitated patients and complete regular chart reviews.
