Job Summary
Physician Assistant, Urology at Sutter Health seeks a PA to assess, diagnose, plan and implement medical care in collaboration with a physician. Functions within the full scope of licensure; accountable for assessment, coordination, delivery and evaluation of care, including direct patient care, education and transitions of care. Provides medical consultation and supervision-delegated therapeutic procedures, assists with various procedures, delivers patient education, treatment and follow-up, and may complete daily rounds in office, hospital, emergency, and/or perioperative settings. Works within ambulatory and inpatient standardized procedures and complies with California PA Practice Act. Requires collaboration across a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care across the care continuum.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed physician assistant in California
- Full scope of licensure per the California Physician Assistant Practice Act
- Experience with EPIC or similar EHR systems
- Ability to perform therapeutic procedures delegated by supervising physician
- Ability to lead/mentor and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work in office, hospital, emergency and/or perioperative settings
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Capability to provide patient education and follow-up
- Commitment to quality documentation and patient care continuity
