Physician Assistant - Urology

Job Summary
Provide medical and surgical services within Urology by rounding on patients, performing physical exams, writing orders, and documenting daily notes. Interpret laboratory tests and radiological examinations, recognize emergencies requiring immediate treatment, and initiate emergency medical treatments without supervision when necessary. Assist in surgical procedures in the emergency, clinic, and operating room while performing minor surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. Coordinate discharge planning, arrange sub-specialty follow-up, and manage outpatient medications and therapy referrals. Evaluate patients in the specialty clinic, interview patients and families, and present cases with recommendations to supervising physicians. Document and bill for services promptly with appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Successful completion of a PA program accredited by Committee on Allied Health, Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association (CAHEA)
- Successful completion of a PA program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- Successful completion of a PA program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on the Education of the PA (ARC-PA)
- Experience in direct patient management
- Experience in the surgical or medical subspecialty of the department one is hired into
- Surgical assisting experience
- Knowledge of acute and chronic disease states
- Knowledge of administration and prescription of medications
- Knowledge of delivering physical care following treatment plan
- Current applicable state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant
- Ability to obtain licensure upon date of hire
- Current BLS for Providers from the American Heart Association
