Job Summary
Conduct thorough physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and diagnose acute illnesses and injuries. Order and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays, lab work, and EKGs. Develop treatment plans with medication prescriptions and therapies, while performing minor procedures such as suturing, I&D, splinting, and wound care. Provide patient education on health maintenance and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Requires a Master's degree, NCCPA certification, and NJ unrestricted license; includes DOT physicals and occupational health services.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Active and unrestricted PA license in NJ
- DEA & NJ Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license
- BLS certification
- Obtain National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners certification within 6 months of accepting the job
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in urgent care or ER preferred
