Job Summary
Physician Assistant sought for outpatient sports medicine practice focusing on elbow, shoulder, and knee injuries in athletes from high school to professional levels. Responsibilities include assisting in surgery in hospital and surgical center locations, performing first assistant surgical duties in open and arthroscopic procedures, conducting examinations and documenting health history, ordering lab and radiographic tests, participating in clinical documentation, patient education, prescribing medications, and performing independent in-office procedures (injections, aspirations, ultrasound-guided procedures). Requires working in outpatient clinical settings during normal hours with no required evenings or weekends. Strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and orthopedic/surgical experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed by the State of Texas (PA,C)
- Degree from an accredited educational institution
- Experience in an orthopedic practice setting is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Spanish speaking fluency welcomed but not required
- Experience with EHR utilization including e-prescribing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Previous medical office and surgical experience preferred
- Orthopedic and/or surgical experience preferred
