Job Summary
Provide direct care to patients in the Department and subspecialties, following established standards and giving specific care directions to nursing and other staff. Obtain detailed histories, perform physical examinations, and write appropriate orders for medications after consulting with a physician. Implement therapeutic regimes, monitor patient responses, and notify the attending physician of condition changes. Perform emergency life-saving procedures in the absence of a physician and participate in rounds with attending staff. Document all encounters including assessments, treatments, and referrals, while maintaining unit records for administrative and reimbursement purposes. May require on-call rotation during non-working hours to assist with urgent situations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Currently Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- DEA Certificate
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
- Physician Assistant Lic-NYS
- Ntl Com Cert Physician Asst
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
