Physician Assistant- Shelby

Provide medical care as delegated by OrthoCarolina physician(s) in the office, hospital, independent clinics, and operating room. Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile medical data including health history and test results. Administer or order diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests, then interpret results in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons. Perform therapeutic procedures including injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and managing infections. Assess and apply orthopedic casts, splints, and immobilization devices while serving as assist-at-surgery for procedures. Develop patient management plans, record progress notes, apply codes and charges, and dictate discharge summaries and operative procedure notes. Rounds on hospital inpatients as directed by supervising physicians.
