Job Summary
Physician Assistant (PA) role delivering comprehensive healthcare under physician supervision. Responsible for conducting physical exams, gathering histories, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, developing individualized care plans, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention. The PA collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, perform procedures such as suturing wounds and assisting in minor surgeries, maintain accurate medical records, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and advocate for patients within the healthcare system. The position requires staying current with medical research and participating in continuing education. Work hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM with a one-hour lunch and rotating Saturday duties; production expectations include managing around 20 patients per day on average.
Required Qualifications
- A Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) or equivalent from an accredited PA program.
- A board certificate through a recognized body, such National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- A Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate
- A National Provider Identifier (NPI) Number
- A Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate
- One year of experience in primary care outpatient setting
