Job Summary
Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) in Podiatry to support podiatry surgeons in Rockport and Belfast, Maine, with a blended clinical and surgical first-assist role. Responsibilities include first assist in operating room for foot/ankle procedures, independently evaluating and managing podiatry patients, performing office-based procedures (wound care, injections, post-operative follow-ups), coordinating post-operative care, collaborating with podiatrists and care team, and participating in safety/quality initiatives. Requires licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Maine or eligibility for licensure; experience or interest in surgical first assist and podiatric medicine; strong communication and teamwork skills; opportunities for professional growth and a predictable clinic/surgical schedule within MaineHealth MH Podiatry (Rockport and Belfast).
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Maine
- Experience or strong interest in surgical first assist and podiatric medicine
- Prior experience in podiatry, orthopedics, surgery, or wound care preferred, but not required
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and commitment to team-based care
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-focused approach
