Job Summary
Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) in MaineHealth Podiatry supports podiatric surgeons in Rockport and Belfast with a blended clinical and surgical first-assist role. Responsibilities include first assisting in foot and ankle procedures, evaluating and managing podiatry patients, performing office-based podiatry procedures (wound care, injections, post-operative follow-ups), coordinating post-operative care, collaborating with the care team, and participating in quality, safety, and operational initiatives. Requires licensure as a PA/NP in Maine (or eligibility), with experience or interest in surgical first assist and podiatry; prior podiatry/orthopedics/surgery/wound care is preferred. Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, teamwork, and excellent communication skills are essential. Required Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Maine
- Experience or strong interest in surgical first assist and podiatric medicine
- Prior experience in podiatry, orthopedics, surgery, or wound care preferred, but not required
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and commitment to team-based care
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-focused approach
