Job Summary
Provide comprehensive medical care, coordinate therapeutic measures, and prescribe medications per clinical standards and New York State law. Evaluate treatment plans, modify protocols, and perform delegated clinical duties effectively within the surgical and hyperbaric center environment. Educate patients and families, facilitate admission and discharge throughput, and collaborate with nursing staff and attending physicians to develop therapeutic plans. Monitor cost effectiveness, participate in clinical research studies, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives while maintaining board certification and CME requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree (BA-PA)
- Current New York State Physician Assistant License
- NCCPA Board Certification
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a physician assistant or physician assistant fellowship experience
- At least 2 years of clinical rotation in various medical, surgical and other specialty areas
- Membership in professional specialty organizations
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the Academy of Pediatrics
