Job Summary
Provide comprehensive primary care via telehealth, including acute, chronic, and preventive visits for patients across the lifespan. Diagnose, treat, and manage conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and gender-affirming care while performing in-office procedures when appropriate. Order diagnostics, manage prescriptions, and document per clinical protocols, offering same-day and weekend coverage for urgent needs. Step in as needed to cover full-time providers during vacation or sick leave, maintaining continuity through chart reviews and inbox management. Serve as a founding voice in launching Haven Health's new virtual care product, providing feedback on workflows and identifying protocol adjustments. Collaborate closely with physicians and medical assistants to ensure seamless patient flow within this inclusive, LGBTQ+-focused primary care network.
Required Qualifications
- PA-C with a current license in California
- Graduate of an accredited PA program; NCCPA certified
- Experience in treating LGBTQ+ patients
- 2+ years of clinical experience in primary care, family medicine, or related outpatient specialty; or 1+ year with relevant fellowship or urgent care exposure
- Demonstrated comfort and proficiency delivering care via telehealth/virtual visits
- Availability for weekend shifts and the flexibility to pick up coverage on relatively short notice
- Proficiency in EHR systems and virtual care workflows
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical judgment in a virtual/outpatient setting
- Commitment to confidentiality (HIPAA), safe prescribing, and regulatory compliance, including multi-state telehealth prescribing rules where applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with hormone therapy, sexual health, or transgender healthcare
- Prior experience in a startup, fast-scaling healthcare operation, or digital health product launch
- Comfort giving structured feedback on product and workflow design
- Experience with Elation or similar EHR platforms
- Bilingual
