Job Summary
Diagnose and treat orthopedic sports medicine injuries and related conditions in clinical and surgical settings. Perform first and second assisting roles in the clinic, operating room, and emergency room. Conduct comprehensive patient interviews, physical assessments, and examinations to gather diagnostic information. Manage prescription medications, perform therapeutic and diagnostic injections, and obtain preoperative consents. Track radiographic studies, lab work, and diagnostic data for treatment planning. Complete preoperative consultation forms, surgical procedure coding, and postoperative notes. Facilitate communication between external providers and collaborate on daily scheduling. Handle administrative tasks such as triaging patient calls and preparing FMLA forms. Report to assigned facilities and Steadman Clinic locations as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ARC-PA–accredited Physician Assistant program
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) or an equivalent graduate-level PA degree
- Certification by the National Commission for Certified Physician's Assistants (NCCPA)
- Registered and licensed by the Colorado Board of Medical Examiners
- Current DEA number
- Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for healthcare providers

- 2–4 years of Physician Assistant experience
- Experience within orthopedics, sports medicine, or a related surgical specialty
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and sound judgment
- Ability to evaluate patients, develop appropriate treatment plans, and provide high-quality care within established clinical protocols and physician collaboration
- Strong critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and attention to detail
