Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, and treat medical and surgical problems while performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as joint injections, fracture reductions, and wound care. Order, perform, and interpret routine laboratory studies, X-rays, EKGs, and advanced imaging as required. Administer medications and orthopedic devices, manage general medical conditions, and provide pre- and post-operative teaching to patients. Maintain patient records, adhere to confidentiality policies, and participate in call rotation responsibilities. Requires work outside normal business hours including evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree (M.A./M.S.) or equivalent from an accredited college or university
- Current license to practice in the state of Illinois
- Current BLS, DEA and Controlled Substance
- Requires work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends
- Stand for long periods of time
- Walk for periods of time
- Climb stairs
- Requires lifting, carrying, or moving heavier objects (i.e. pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds)
- Possess full range of motion in shoulders and arms, including reaching above or below the shoulder in order to operate power tools and medical equipment when needed
- Finger dexterity, the ability to twist hands/wrists repetitively, pushing/pulling against stiff joints, using a variety of holds; demonstrating exercises, lifting/raising over shoulder height
- Vision: Posses close, distant, peripheral and color vision and ability to adjust focus
- Hearing: Ability to detect high pitch, soft or distant sounds
