Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive health appraisals through histories and physical examinations while providing direct clinical care and prescribing medications or interpreting lab tests and imaging. Evaluate patients for further care needs, document all procedures in medical records, and refer to or consult with other disciplines as appropriate. Provide comprehensive teaching to patients, families, and staff; mentor graduate students; and participate in quality improvement, research, and departmental committees. Maintain certifications, continuing education, and licensure while serving as a patient advocate and role model. Work Monday through Friday with one late night; no weekends. Master's degree in nursing or physician assistant program with current Illinois licensure required.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
- Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
- Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois
- Privileged and credentialed through the Northwestern Medicine Medical Staff Office (MSO)
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation – BLS, issued by the American Heart Association
- Must be available for Monday-Friday schedule
- Must be available for 1 late night
- Must not work weekends
