Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient appraisals through health histories and physical examinations while providing direct clinical care and managing a wide range of health problems. Prescribe medications, order laboratory tests and imaging, and evaluate patients to determine further care needs. Document all care in medical records, refer to other disciplines as appropriate, and participate in quality improvement and research initiatives. Mentor graduate students, develop educational systems for patients and staff, and serve as a patient advocate and role model. Maintain certifications, continuing education, and licensure requirements. Work rotating 3x12 shifts including weekends and holidays with on-call duties across Immediate Care Clinics in Deerfield, Evanston, Glenview, Gurnee, Lake Bluff, and Vernon Hills.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
- Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
- Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois
- Privileged and credentialed through the Medical Staff Office (MSO)
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (issued by the American Heart Association) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Controlled substance license and DEA registration
