Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for Neurosurgery in an outpatient capacity performing post-operative visits, new patient evaluations, and follow-up visits with supervision by a physician. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 36 patient-facing hours per week, no OR responsibilities, no call. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient evaluations, prescribing/ordering medications and tests, educating patients and families, and participating in quality improvement and research. Requires master’s level credentialing as an NP or PA, acute care certification for APRNs, First Assist Certification, and Illinois RN and APRN licensure with appropriate board certification; BLS is required. Describes a collaborative, teaching-focused role with emphasis on patient advocacy and continuous professional development. Emphasizes credentialing, privilege processes, and background checks as part of employment.
