Job Summary
Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner sought for Northwestern Medicine’s Digestive Health interventional team, with a mix of inpatient/outpatient responsibilities, including inpatient rounding, care plans for new consults, collaboration with physicians and surgeons, and education for patients, families, and staff. The APP will coordinate care during hospital admission, participate in quality improvement and research, and serve as a clinical educator and preceptor while maintaining licensure and privileges and working primarily with the Interventional Gastroenterology team. The role emphasizes patient advocacy, multidisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing professional development in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Acute care certification required for APRNs
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
- Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
- Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board
- Privileged and credentialed through the Medical Staff Office (MSO)
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Controlled substance license and DEA registration
