Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Gastroenterology, Full-time, Days

Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner sought to join a Gastroenterology team at Northwestern Medicine for a mix of ambulatory and inpatient care. Role supports a 13 physician and 5 APP group across multiple hospital sites (CDH, Delnor, and a satellite clinic in Naperville). Primary responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, direct clinical care, prescribing/ordering medications and tests, patient education, collaboration with physicians and other health professionals, participation in quality improvement and research, teaching and mentoring students and staff, and active involvement in credentialing and staff education. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in nursing or PA program, active Illinois APRN/RN licenses as applicable, acute care certification for APRNs (or equivalent inpatient experience in lieu of certification), BLS, and be prepared for a rigorous professional role with strong emphasis on patient advocacy, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years inpatient APP experience and GI experience.
