Job Summary
Provide comprehensive medical care for inpatient and outpatient populations by performing therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures under supervising physician privilege. Evaluate treatment plans for effectiveness, prescribe medications including controlled substances, and coordinate clinical research studies involving patient screening, enrollment, and data collection. Facilitate patient throughput during admission and discharge while collaborating with nursing staff to develop therapeutic plans and ensure continuity of care across the continuum. Monitor cost effectiveness, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and serve as a clinical resource for peer education. Maintain board certification, annual CME, and current expertise in OB/GYN and hyperbaric/wound healing services as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree (BA-PA)
- Current New York State Physician Assistant License
- NCCPA Board Certification
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Physician Assistant
- Physician assistant fellowship
- 2 years of clinical rotation in various medical, surgical and other specialty areas
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the Academy of Pediatrics
- Membership in pertinent professional organizations
- Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
