Job Summary
Inpatient PA/NP role on the General Medical Service team: collaborate with hospitalists, primary care attendings, residents, and nursing staff to manage inpatients; perform procedures within PA/NP scope; order and interpret labs and tests; write daily progress notes; implement physician orders; coordinate referrals and transitions of care; provide patient and family education; participate in QA/QI projects; maintain licensure, certifications, and ongoing education; schedule includes 12-hour day shifts with potential weekend/holiday coverage; 40 hours/week on average; licensure and certification requirements as outlined; Massachusetts-based practice at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Level accredited Physician Assistant Program (PA) approved by AMA Board of Approval and Certification of PA programs
- Board Certification by the National Commission on Certification of PA/NPs
- For APRN: Master’s or post-master’s degree in acute care, adult or family NP program (CCNE or NLNAC accredited)
- Current certification by NCCPA/NP or equivalent
- Massachusetts licensure to practice as PA and/or APRN, including MA RN/NP licensure as applicable
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
- ACLS certification by end of probationary period
- New grads: resume/CV detailing clinical rotations
