Job Summary
Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner role in Gastroenterology in Sumter, SC. Under physician supervision, delivers quality patient care including taking health histories and performing physical exams, orders and interprets labs and diagnostic imaging (CTs, MRIs, ultrasound, contrast studies), develops and carries out treatment plans, and prescribes medications per state laws. Manages referrals to supervising physician when cases are complex, provides emergency care to prevent loss of life or limb, and contributes to clinic operations and policy implementation. Requires PA education, NCCPA certification, and current PA licensure; BLS is required. Preferred CAQ in Emergency Medicine.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA certification
- Current Physician Assistant licensure in the state where employed
- BLS certification
