Job Summary
Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment. Prescribe pharmaceuticals and treatment regimens, review medical records, and refer patients to specialists. Interact with patients and families to inform them of care decisions, provide wellness counseling, and coordinate nursing and support staff activities. Adhere to departmental policies, continuous quality improvement objectives, and infection control standards while enforcing PPE requirements. Attend meetings, trainings, and community outreach activities as required. This role supports a Federally Qualified Health Center serving over 40,000 neighbors with comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health services. Candidates must hold national certification and Arizona state licensure with one year of experience, with bilingual skills in English and Spanish preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
- Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise
- Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage
- Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
- Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Graduate of an AMA accredited school for Physician Assistants
- National Certification and AZ State Licensed as Physician Assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
- 1+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant
- New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing
- Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire
