Job Summary
Examine patients, take medical histories, and make preliminary diagnoses or decide on follow-up procedures for ENT-related conditions. Administer and order diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, while interpreting results and performing in-office procedures like ear lavage and nasal endoscopy. Develop and implement patient care and treatment plans, prescribe medications within state guidelines, and document encounters thoroughly in electronic health records. Assist physicians with emergency treatments and complex procedures under supervision. Maintain compliance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements while providing care to patients of all age groups.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated competency dealing with all age groups including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Completion of a four-year physician assistant baccalaureate program and a year of clinical training, or
- Completion of a two-year accredited physician assistant program (which requires two years of undergraduate study) plus two years of clinical training following completion of PA program.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
- Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient body fluids.
