Job Summary
Examine patients in inpatient and outpatient settings to establish diagnoses through history, physical examination, and diagnostic testing. Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and radiographic tests while developing and evaluating patient-centered care plans. Provide patient instruction, counseling, and education; prescribe, dispense, and administer medication according to applicable statutes. Refer and consult with appropriate health care providers, document charts accurately, and actively participate in committees and staff meetings. Maintain current Arizona PA license, DEA license, and NCCPA certification, completing 12 oncology-related CMEs annually. Collaborate with the oncology team to treat patients safely using evidence-based practices.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
- Current Arizona PA license
- Current DEA license
- NCCPA Certification Required
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- 12 oncology-related CMEs required each calendar year
- Initial Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative Program training to be completed within the first 6 months of hire
- Minimum of two years of experience in oncology/hematology practice
- Must be capable of consistently reaching and or working above and below shoulder level
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk or being on feet 80% of the time per day with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing
- Ability to sit at computer terminal at least 20% of the time per day
- Ability to communicate using telephone
