Job Summary
The Physician Assistant in the Neuro/MSK department supports neurosurgeons by conducting comprehensive evaluations, performing daily hospital rounds, and assisting with patient discharge plans. Responsibilities include managing patient referrals, conducting follow-up visits, and performing minor procedures with appropriate supervision. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and candidates should be graduates of an accredited PA program, certified by the relevant council. Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
- Experience in conducting hospital rounds and evaluating post-operative patients
- Skills in communicating effectively with patients and inter-professional teams
- Capability to perform minor procedures post-skills assessment and evaluation
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Certified by the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada
- Experience in a clinical environment is an asset
