Job Summary
Conduct in-depth patient interviews, perform physical examinations, and develop comprehensive treatment plans for episodic and chronic health care problems. Order and interpret diagnostic studies, manage hospitalized patients, and perform procedures including injections, immunizations, and wound care. Provide continuity of care, counsel patients on preventive measures, and facilitate referrals to specialty services and social agencies. Manage clinic performance improvement, staff scheduling, and competency evaluations while collaborating with physicians and supporting nursing and support staff. Maintain compliance with accreditation standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- 24 months experience as a Physician Assistant
- 12 months in a primary care area
- experience must have taken place within the last 36 months period
- Combined education/experience may substitute for minimum experience
- ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
- ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their colleagues within often-stressful medical treatment settings
- Strong analytical talents in ensuring accurate patient diagnoses and the implementation of responsive care plans
- Excellent organization/time management skills
- Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions
- ability to understand, follow and successfully perform duties, including whole blood collection, and apheresis procedures
- Physician Assistant - PA (CA DCA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- DEA Certificate
- active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license from Nevada
- current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification
- Valid Nevada State Board of Pharmacy License
- Current valid license in the state of Nevada
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
- Must be able to obtain Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire and maintain by renewal before expiration date
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in a related field
- Bilingual; at a minimum, the ability to understand and to make one-self understood to all Spanish-speaking individuals
