Job Summary

Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill postoperative cardiovascular patients in the CVSICU, including those with aortic dissections, transplants, and mechanical circulatory support. Perform invasive procedures such as central line placement, arterial line insertion, chest tube removal, and pacer wire extraction. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop evidence-based treatment plans, conduct comprehensive assessments, and provide education to patients and families regarding discharge planning. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects to enhance patient outcomes. Requires a Master's degree, active PA-C license, and minimum one year of critical care experience. Permanent night shift including weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree as a Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Active, unrestricted ACNP or PA-C license and certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in critical care, preferably in a cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Permanent Nights
  • Including weekends and holidays
