Job Summary
Physician Assistant provides comprehensive patient care across clinical and surgical settings, assists in the operating room for Gynecology, Urogynecology, and General Surgery, and delivers pre-, intra-, and post-operative care. The role supports clinic operations, collaborates closely with physicians in a growing urogynecology service line, and emphasizes perioperative management with no-call responsibilities in a Maine-based, on-site clinical-surgical environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current PA-C certification
- Active Maine state Physician Assistant license
- DEA registration
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
Desired Qualifications
- First assist experience in OR (Gynecology/GYN surgery, urogynecology, or general surgery)
- Formal first-assist training or substantial operative experience
- Postgraduate surgical residency/fellowship (strongly preferred)
- Robotics experience not required (dedicated hospital-based robotic surgical assist team in place)
- Ambulatory surgery workflows (pre-op, intra-op, PACU handoff, same-day discharge)
- Gynecologic procedures experience (e.g., hysterectomies, oophorectomy)
- Laparoscopic/minimally invasive procedures
