Physician Assistant

Provide clinical care to patients enrolled in biomedical research studies in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Administer research interventions, collect protocol-driven patient data, and evaluate patient response to treatment. Obtain informed consent and complete required research documentation for clinical trial participants. Manage and address ethical considerations in a clinical research environment. Participate in protocol amendments, monitoring visits, and serve as a liaison for protocol navigators. Act as a clinical leader and subject matter expert, providing consultation to physicians, nurses, and external healthcare professionals. Integrate evidence-based practice into clinical decision-making and evaluate patient outcomes. Support organizational goals of NHLBI DIR and Office of the Clinical Director. Provide leadership in developing standards of practice, policies, and interpretation of research findings in clinical settings. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to deliver comprehensive care. Perform medical management tasks including admissions, discharges, consults, and progress notes. Communicate patient care plans and recommendations with attending physicians and care teams. Conduct patient and family education using individualized teaching approaches. Advocate for patient rights and safety. Participate in clinical rounds, meetings, and referrals; contribute to scientific presentations, publications, and research-related projects.
