Physician Assistant-General Surgery

Performs a variety of procedures for the pre-operative and post-operative care of surgical patients. Operates in the Operating Room and collaborates with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure optimal patient care. Responsibilities include taking initial patient histories, performing physical examinations, initiating and documenting the plan of care, daily patient rounds, writing orders for medications, laboratory work and diagnostic tests, interpreting laboratory results, discharging patients with summaries and referrals, and providing post-discharge instructions. ADA essential functions apply. Variable shifts including days, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call duties.
