Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, order diagnostic tests, and counsel patients prior to surgery. Assist during procedures by suturing, collecting specimens, and managing surgical sites, then monitor post-operative recovery, manage complications, and provide discharge instructions. Collaborate with attending physicians and residents to develop treatment plans while maintaining accurate EHR documentation. Participate in on-call rotations for emergency surgical care as needed. Requires Master's degree, NY State licensure, and NCCPA certification. Salary range $69.55 - $93.00/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program
- Current New York State Physician Assistant licensure
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Excellent clinical skills
- Ability to think critically and make independent decisions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to perform under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism and poise
