Job Summary
Provide comprehensive outpatient gastroenterology services in collaboration with supervising physicians. Evaluate and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions including GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, and colorectal disorders. Perform patient consultations, follow-up visits, and hospital rounding as needed. Assist with and/or perform procedures as permitted, including preparation and post-procedure care for endoscopy and colonoscopy. Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory studies and imaging. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Educate patients on digestive health, preventive screening, and lifestyle modifications. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR). Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Active or eligible Physician Assistant license in New York
- DEA registration (or eligibility)
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in Gastroenterology preferred
- Candidates with strong internal medicine or primary care backgrounds and interest in GI
